The World's First Digital Camera by Kodak from 1975

I stumbled upon this article on Kodak's website while looking up information about cameras, I thought it was pretty interesting so I figured I'd share it here on my blog. Although the methods have changed, "Film-less Photography" has definitely prevailed.

"It was a camera that didn’t use any film to capture still images - a camera that would capture images using a CCD imager and digitize the captured scene and store the digital info on a standard cassette. It took 23 seconds to record the digitized image to the cassette. The image was viewed by removing the cassette from the camera and placing it in a custom playback device... There you have it. No film required to capture and no printing required to view your snapshots. That’s what we demonstrated to many internal Kodak audiences throughout 1976. In what has got to be one of the most insensitive choices of demonstration titles ever, we called it “Film-less Photography”."

Atlanta

I arrived in Atlanta, GA a few days ago and just got my home internet up and running. As I begin to get photoshoots set up here I will start posting some highlights here on the blog. I am definitely looking forward to getting things going in a new city, especially one as large (and warm) as Atlanta.

Moving to Atlanta in February

I will be moving to Atlanta, GA in February. I'm really looking forward to exploring a new city and meeting new people. I'm also looking forward to resuming a few of my creative projects after the big move. I will still be booking paid sessions in NC throughout January so if you would like to set up an appointment you still can, just email me at info@jasonginman.com.

Makeover for the website

I spent my day today finishing up the new graphics for the new version of my photography website and it is now online. Besides the obvious aesthetic changes, there is also now a gallery section for my 'dolls' project which I plan to update as I continue to work on the project and make new images.

Sneak Peak at the New Website Design

This is my new business card. It is not very interesting on it's own but I decided to share it here on my blog since it's the first example of the new design direction my website will be taking by the beginning of 2012.
I decided to replace the multiple themed typefaces with a more simplistic layout in Helvetica. I chose this simpler approach because I beleive it will complement the images on my website without the graphic design competing or distracting from the images themselves.

International Photographers Group

I wanted to share this new Facebook Page which will showcase Photography from around the world. Anyone can submit a photo and the moderators are located in different countries representing every continent (myself included).
